Najmy Thompson, P. L. has experience in the handling of first-party property insurance claims and the representation of business owners, homeowners and condominium and homeowner associations in disputes with their insurers relating to property damage claims. Randolph Smith has litigated numerous types of claims arising under property insurance policies ranging from hurricanes to fires. Mr. Smith also handles and litigates disputes addressing the availability of coverage under property insurance policies.
After practicing for 25 years in Boston, Massachusetts, and with their two children in college, Randy and his wife, Olivia, moved to Florida in August 2003. In September, Randy became cousel to the firm of Butler Pappas Weimueller Katz Craig, LLP in Tampa. There, his practice focused on complex business and commercial litigation in both state and federal court, including anti-trust matters. In November 2005, Randy joined John Lakin at Barnes Walker & Lakin, Chartered, in Bradenton, and in August 2007, they formed Lakin Smith, P.A. His practice there focused on first party property insurance claims, business and commercial disputes and estate or trust litigation. Randy joined Najmy Thompson, P.L. in October 2011.
